Adding custom fields to items in SAP Transaction ME5xN x=1,2,3..

I have to add custom fields to items in T-code: ME5xN. There are few BADI’s but I don’t know how to use it. There is exit MEREQ001 which tells that by creating the table CI_EBANDB and adding fields to it, those fields are added to the table EBAN.

After following documentation, I have found that field is never editable and not aware how to do it. I think fields should always be editable in Transactions like ME51N..

This can be done by following below path:

T-code: SPRO -> Materials Management -> Purchasing -> Purchase Requisition -> Define Screen Layout at Document Level and there view the details on the transaction you want to customize.

When you execute, there view the details on the transaction you want to customize. You need to uncheck the "Display" checkbox for your field.
