Transistor - Biasing
Description:
The connection between the emitter and base should be in forward bias.
Transistor consist of three terminals out of which any one terminal can be used as common terminal for two distinct circuits.
The connection between the base and collector should be in reverse bias.
Symbol of transistor
P-N-P
N-P-N
Common base configuration
When base is used as the common terminal for two circuits then it is known as common base configuration.
Common emitter configuration
When emitter is used as the common terminal for two circuits then it is known as common emitter configuration.
Common collector configuration
When collector is used as the common terminal for two circuits then it is known as common collector configuration.
