Transistor - Overview

Advertisements

Description:

Transistor is semiconductor device having two diodes i.e. three doped regions and two junctions.

The three doped regions are called as emitter, base and collector.

There are two types of transistors –

  • N-P-N transistor.

N-P-N Transistor

  • P-N-P transistor.

P-N-P Transistor

The base is small and doping is thin.

Emitter is moderate in size and doping is strong.

Collector is largest of the three regions with doping level between the doping levels of emitter and base i.e. doping is moderate.
