The changes a cell undergoes during telophase I are as follows −

  • The changes occurring in telophase I is opposite to those that occur in prophase I.
  • At each pole a daughter nucleus with nuclear membrane and nucleolus is formed.
  • Disappearance of astral rays and spindle fibres.
  • Completion of centrosome.
  • Chromosomes undergo decondensation by hydration.
  • Chromosomes become long thread like chromatin fibres.
