Description:
Changes that a cell undergo during anaphase are as follows −
- It is of the shortest duration about 2-3 minutes.
- Each centrosome splits into two sister chromatids and these sister chromatids have their own centromere.
- Daughter chromosomes are formed.
- Each daughter chromatid is formed of only one chromatid.
- Inter-zonal fibres are formed between centromeres of daughter chromosomes.
- The daughter chromosomes move towards opposite poles and may be V-shaped or J shaped.
- Anaphase divides the nuclear matter into two equal halves hence called equational division.
