Published on:  on 6th Dec, 2017

Description:

Changes that a cell undergo during anaphase are as follows −

  • It is of the shortest duration about 2-3 minutes.
  • Each centrosome splits into two sister chromatids and these sister chromatids have their own centromere.
  • Daughter chromosomes are formed.
  • Each daughter chromatid is formed of only one chromatid.
  • Inter-zonal fibres are formed between centromeres of daughter chromosomes.
  • The daughter chromosomes move towards opposite poles and may be V-shaped or J shaped.
  • Anaphase divides the nuclear matter into two equal halves hence called equational division.
