Description:
Changes that a cell undergo during telophase are as follows −
- Telophase involves activities which are reverse of the activities performed by a cell during prophase.
- Takes about an hour to complete the stage.
- Two chromosome groups reorganize themselves into nuclei.
- At each pole chromosomes are surrounded by a new nuclear membrane formed from ER elements.
- Nucleolus is reformed from NOR (nucleolar organizing regions) of nucleolar chromosomes.
- Chromosomes decondense by hydration to form a network called nuclear chromatin.
- Astral and spindle fibres are absorbed in the cytoplasm.
- Microtubules undergo depolymerization into tubulin subunits.
