Published on:  on 6th Dec, 2017

Description:

Changes that a cell undergo during telophase are as follows −

  • Telophase involves activities which are reverse of the activities performed by a cell during prophase.
  • Takes about an hour to complete the stage.
  • Two chromosome groups reorganize themselves into nuclei.
  • At each pole chromosomes are surrounded by a new nuclear membrane formed from ER elements.
  • Nucleolus is reformed from NOR (nucleolar organizing regions) of nucleolar chromosomes.
  • Chromosomes decondense by hydration to form a network called nuclear chromatin.
  • Astral and spindle fibres are absorbed in the cytoplasm.
  • Microtubules undergo depolymerization into tubulin subunits.
