Escherichia coli lives in human intestine. It feeds on undigested matter, checks the growth of putrefying bacteria and produces large quantities of several B vitamin as well as vitamin K.
A symbiotic bacterium is Rhizobium. They form association with nodulated roots of different legumes. The bacterium obtains shelter and food from the legume. They perform nitrogen fixation inside the nodules.
Some other examples of nitrogen fixing symbiotic bacteria are Frankia, Xanthomonas.
