We see electricity all around us. It is present in lights, in our mobiles, computers, in the sky when cloud strikes each other. It is in our body and help communication between brain and other parts of body through nervous system.

Electricity is activity of a property of material called electric charge.

Electricity has wide scope in nature.The different conditions of electric charge give different effect in electricity which we study in different chapters. These are electrostatics, current electricity, magnetic effect, chemical effect, heating effect, electromagnetic induction and communication.
